I tried the super glue rout a few times and kept it together for a little while but it broken again. I’ve searched and searched for a new one no one seems to sell it GM discontinued that part years ago.
I found a fix for the cup holder that goes in the center console for when the flimsy clips break that hold it together. I took an old soldering iron and plastic welded the two pieces together where they were touching. Hopefully it will hold for awhile until I can get one 3d printed.
Thanks for posting where I could find the connector as usual they melt from the heat. You can use a hair pin with the end cut off and filed flat to depin these connect.
I’m curious is it hitting with the tire on under the weight of the truck? They’ll sit on the bump stop if there’s no load on the suspension. If you like the ride height buy a set of skyjacker control arms that’ll correct the ball joint angle and increase travel. That’s if it is resting on the...
I hope this is the right place to post this. I’ve noticed that the fuel gauge on my 98 K1500 just randomly stopped reading correctly, and it now does the hummingbird twitch. I’ve checked all the grounds on the tank from the sending unit, and I know that the float isn’t bent because I installed...
I'd go for a TrueTrac and maybe 3.73 gears. I’ve had mine installed for roughly 12k mile, and I couldn't be happier it is way better than the G80 just waiting to blow apart on you. The rear end locks up solid when you need it and you'll never know it's there when you're negotiating tight turns.
Buy Stahl wheel spacers and Stahl only. If your budget is a little tighter go for Bora spacers. Don’t quote me on this but most of your K series GMT400s need a 2in spacer clear the factory studs a 1.75 may work but measure the studs with a caliper before you buy. If the studs stick out of the...
Great replies! The ball join problem I have consulted with some off-roader buddies of mine they suggested aftermarket control arms which I was planning on doing any way. The 4 in lift is probably the way to go, but it is a DD after all. I am aware with a 2-2.5 lift, that the tires I’m looking at...
Good afternoon. I have been searching this forum for info on a proper level/lift kit maybe 2-2.5 inches. I am thinking about buying a set of Proryde or Readylift torsion keys both come with shock extenders, a set of either Skyjacker or RC ucas, and a 1.5 or 2.0 in block. I'm aware that...
If you’ve replaced all the ignition components I’d probably look at the spider injector. I’ve had to replace the on on my 94 Jimmy with the W 4.3 several times, but that trucks also got 465k on the odometer. If I’m not mistaken jegs sells a off-road y pipe for the 4.3 full size trucks. However...
I run just plain Castrol 5w-30 conventional with a WiX 51036 filter and change the oil and filter every 5,000 miles. My trucks a 98 K1500 with the L31 with 150k on the odometer.
One of my friends installed a set of 1.6 roller rockers on his LT1 with the stock cam and valve train. I figured since the L31 and the LT1 are very similar engines, I’m curious as to if the same upgrade could apply to an L31? I know that the Vortec heads can’t take a ton of lift, but the stock...
I wanted to post this after running across this problem when I was rebuilding my rear end.
The pinion seal that comes with the master overhaul kits won’t fit the GMT400 trucks at least in the 98 year model, reason being there is a wear ring made onto the yoke thus the seal that comes with the...
The same people that say the 8.5 in is a week axle are going around and shaving 11.5 and 10.5 in axle to gain “ground clearance”. If you look there’s only 3/4 of an inch difference on from the D60 and the 11.5 in but that’s for another day. I’ve your just DD or you do light off-roading your...
