TCI isn't helpful with factory integration. They suggested using a Dakota Digital aftermarket cluster to use the speedometer output wire. The speedometer output wire transmits a square wave signal that is programmable in in pulse width. It is really about if a non-electric 700r4 VSS puts...
Swapping out my 700r4 to a 4L80E in a 1992 RCSB. Have everything installed, using the TCI/Fast EZ-TCU controller. How can I keep the factory DRAC/Gauges with the new trans? Can the old 2 wire VSS be wired into the rear trans output sensor or do I use the speedometer output wire from the...
thank you, that sounds like the easiest solution. I have e-fans and an MSD 6A box so it does pull some amps when everything gets going. Would prefer to follow your advice and just run an additional line rather than mess with reworking everything.
thank you
Hello all,
I upgraded to a Powermaster 124 amp alternator on my 92 RCSB. I know its best to run a large wire from the amp. is it suitable to run a 4-6 gauge wire just from the alt to the power distribution block on the firewall? or should I run a secondary wire from the battery to the...
Hello all
I may be going crazy(er) but I need the forum knowledge: I have a 92 RCSB 2wd About a year ago I upgraded all the brakes: Baer 2-piston front calipers (basically C5 Vette calipers) with 13" rotors and their rear disc conversion with single piston calipers.
They had been zero...
Yeah I figured I prob should. You didn't have any problems with the plastic distribution block getting too hot/not able to handle the current?
Do they make shielded power wire? I have a lot of radio feedback from the stock system with the msd box. I even installed an MSD noise filter which...
Hello all,
I added a Powermaster 140 amp alt to my 92 truck as I am running flex-a-lite fans and an MSD 6a box.
Should I increase the wire size running from the alt to the power distribution block on the firewall? if so what size? will I run the risk of melting the power distribution...
My 92 has picked up a funny habit of the power door locks wont work when hitting the lock/unlock button. it happens randomly - door open & closed. When it does happen both door lock switches wont work. Took apart the doors and the wires are all in great condition even running through the...
Thanks TX. Will take a look. i will have to see if the DRAC comes in to play with this since the 88-91 are internal and the 92+ are extrnal, may be able to just bypass that wire all together. I bought a factory wiring diagram for the 91 that arrives today so I will see if any of this is even...
yeah i want the higher tach and speedo.
not ready to sell, took me a long time to find this one. going to see if i can make it work some how.
would appreciate any one who knows how to real with the internal/external DRAC situation between the 91 and 92.
thx
Hello,
i got lucky and scored a brand new 1991 454 SS cluster only to discover its not a direct swap for my 92. has anyone tried to convert down? I did the searchs and it seems everyone swaps from older to new, not newer to to older. I went to the junk yard and pulled out 2 1990 gauge...
Checked out the ball joints. The 2500/3500 ball joints are larger in diameter and longer. But more importantly the 2500/3500 joints have a angle to the mounting flange where as the 1500 joints are parallel with the top of the ball joint. I have to believe this creates unwelcomed joint angles...
Thx, so the overall dimensions were the same? i need new upper ball joints anyway so I was going to buy the proper c2500 uppers to go with it. is that where i may run into problems i.e. the c1500 upper ball joint is a different diameter than the 2500? obviously the mounting points are...
