So I have a 1995 sierra 350 TBI, recently I've been having start issues. It would start, run for 2 seconds and dies, sometimes it would crank but never start at all for days, and sometimes it would start but run really rough then smooth out over 5 mins or so. This is an on and off issue, sometimes it starts and runs perfect but still you can tell its very rich.

I've replaced the fuel pump assembly, fuel pressure regulator, TPS, spark plugs, cap and rotor, and wires.

Since it's an on and off issue, could it be the computer, TBI itself, or a clogged fuel return line?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Sounds like a similar issue I'm having. Never would have guessed a coolant temp sensor though. Subd

This is kinda related. A while ago my upper radiator hose went out and my truck got really hot. Since then my temp gauge on the dash isn't working, is this cause I burnt up my coolant temp sensor or is it a problem with the gauge. Also it's running a little rich

Funny thing, I have this old code reader I picked up at Reilly's auto, when plugged in it blinks a code through the service engine light. Anyway, I went and gave it a shot and low and behold the first ecm code was the coolant temp sensor fault. I need to clear that one before finding the next codes but yea, you guys are pretty good.

Thanks guys, I just replaced the CTS took the truck out, drove around for 10 mins nicely, then it started to hesitate and die in the middle of the road. cranked it for 30 secs a few times, nothing. So pushed throttle to the floor and cranked it, it started but would die unless I gave it full throttle. Every time I'm at a red light, starting off again with light throttle would kill it so i had to floor it. Any other ideas?

Does your truck ever have problems shifting? This sounds a lot like what's been going on with my truck. My trucks has all the same issues plus problems shifting (sometimes), no power (sometimes), and problems shifting (sometimes). I've even taken it to the dealer for a scan, the two codes that came up where the ignition module and ECM. I replaced the ECM (not module inside), TPS, fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and alternator. Nothing seems to fix the problem or even make it a little better. I have a 1995 GMC Sierra 1500 350 TBI as well.

Well what about the ignition module code? Did you address it?
