People are dumbfounded by the fact that i can turn an awesome truck into a picture of said truck after its been lit on fire and pushed off a bridge

It looks like you have one of the same problems i do, every paint color change turns out "cartoon-ish" and doesnt look real.

^^^ not half bad- just go a little easier on the saturation/brightness/contrast levels to keep the glossy/realistic look

what did you use? gimp?
