I believe it was up to 1994 that the interior had the fat radio that most people replace with a storage bin. I've been thinking it'd be a good place for a gauge panel, should be able to fit 2 in there. Does anyone know of somewhere that makes that?

Yeah I was thinking about making one, and at $50 that's the way to go. I replaced the radio area on my F250 with a steel panel holding 4 gauges and I'll probably just do something similar.

Now it’s in a pile of parts buried somewhere in my garage. I have the whole truck tore down to bare frame. I might buy one of the gauge panels when I get to putting the interior back in.

I used one of the pocket kits to recess a couple gauges into. IMO it looks better than them sitting right up at the front.. recessed matches the gauge cluster better. Autometer's Z series gauges are pretty close too with the black face, white letters, red/orange needles.. and they have green bulb condoms you can install that are similar to the gauge cluster lighting. Pocket is the AMI GMP-333 with the lip at the bottom, still had room for the stereo remote to fit in there. :D

Phantoms have a white face.

Those look like Z Series but I can't make the picture big enough
You're 100% correct. I had Phantoms on a previous truck and the memory of that screwed me up. Z series are indeed the ones I used in the example I posted; I corrected it so I wouldn't screw anyone up on that choice.. :D

I had picked the Phantom series for my '96 GMC wrecker to "sort of" match the Airlift gauge for the helper bags. Close but not a match..
