Mine is a 98...seems like it should work for any of them though. Not sure if they sell it on ebay.

Isaac refunded my money I didn't ask him to but that's what happened so I guess I can go ahead and buy the pid from dash command and and see if that works

A couple posts up, someone said they couldn’t get CarGauge Pro to work on their 96 but Dash Command did. Maybe you’ll have better luck with that one.

It seems lately that several people are reporting problems getting those apps to read it. I bought mine in 2016, but they both still read the CMP offset for me.

Several posts up (9/1/2017) I posted some screenshots on how to get to it for Car Gauge.

On Dash Command, and I’m going by memory, there’s a button on the home screen that says Data something. It brings up a list of PIDs and their values.

You must be registered for see images attach

I think there’s an option at the bottom to add a PID, which takes you to the main list. It may be the three little dots icon on the lower right? The offset is in there.

Mine will read a value at idle, but you have to bump the throttle a few times to get it to read the actual CMP offset.

Car gauge pro contacted me and told me that it is not compatible with 96 to 98 1500 so I got dashcommand and the gm extras and it works great. Car gauge pro is not going to work for you I don't know why

I have the 98 c2500 and tried the dashcommand I have the pid for Cmp but for some reason it doesn't seem to work. I know you got to raise the rpms above 1200 to get a new reading. No matter which way I adjust distributor I get the same reading. I adjust raise rpms above 1200 and still same reading

Oh, so you have it showing the CMP Retard but the value itself isn’t changing?
