Don't get me wrong, I have gotten 22 in a 95 k1500 w/ 305 and 3.42s. Had to drive like a gpa and bout 55-60 tops hypermilling.

Never seen a 6.0 get over 13 though and I have owned 4.

I think a large part of that is the auto trans found behind most. I've got a good friend with an 01 6.0 5spd in a 2500 and he gets about 15. Again that's a 3.73 gear and a heavier pickup though.

That's like the dodge guys claiming 30mpg on a 4x4 Cummins.

You would think so, but I watched a friend get nearly 25 mpg on a 1st gen 3500 12V ECLB 4x4 dually with a 5 speed. Like this: http://car.mitula.us/offer-detalle/.../34/1/dodge-dually-houston/Autoexplosion?cc=1

(I'd have that one today if that price is accurate by the way!)

Wouldn't have believed him if I hadn't been on that particular trip with him.

I swear, sometimes that 6BT engine finds that rip in the laws of physics and just slips right through....

Yep. I've seen 30mpg in a 94 12v 2wd 2500, reg cab. Was a friends truck we took for a trip and I tracked it religiously. That was all hwy at about 100 km/h mind you.

My 82 c10 6.2l got 30-32 highway and 25 town before I started parting out. This seems to be mostly gassers so I left that trucks mpg out of the running.

Took the 96 for a 380 mile trip, 18.1 mpg, not too shabby for a near factory truck with bolt ons
