These two spindles look very similar but are very different, the ball joint holes are larger on the aluminum one and it is tallerYes, wrong side I only had one spindle at the time
The aluminum one could be used, however I'm married to the cast iron due to modifications already made. Also it is twice the weight of the aluminum one

If you look in the picture with them standing up, the lower ball joint flange is thicker on the aluminum one , one thing to remember these are off 2 different platforms. With the overall height being taller, I would have to believe that any lowering effect would be negligible if any. Now the weight savings on the other hand would be huge.
