I spent little time at home. I had a lot of adventures doing many different things. New years day 2010 4 of us went 100 miles to get a full size backhoe. Not a lot of places open New Years day. The trailer light connector was bad and we had to change that out, I had a connector. We needed a clevis pin for one of the long chains, I had one. I had/have people in my life that don't react well to some OTC meds so I have a large variety. It wasn't uncommon for me to make a 250-400 mile run on a Saturday do go do something or help someone. Sometimes I rode with them in and it was as simple as grabbing my backpack and parts bag because they had tools. I would help strangers who had broke down. I have also made the mistake of traveling light. I took my family to Disney in 2016, in the middle of the night I see headlights in the ditch. I stop to check and there is a guy upright in a Camaro that had rolled at least once. He was alert enough to be on the phone with his girlfriend but what he was saying wasn't making sense. I called 911 and when I heard the ambulance siren I went back up on the road with a flashlight to signal the location. I didn't have my reflective vest and it would have been pretty handy that night.

I do know people who do nothing outside of going to work, going home watching TV, going to sporting events and maybe a vacation that involves flying and a rental car. AAA is for them for sure even if they had all this equipment they wouldn't know what to do with it.

I think it depends on the time of the year and what you doing, where you plan on going. For instance ill be taking the family north this weekend for Xmas tree and I'll hit snow so a full set of chains, my winch, road flares, food, extra clothes-diapers for the twins, small propane bottle an burner, chainsaw, blankets, plus some other thing i know im forgetting right now but i always let someone kno where I plan on going and how long I should be, we have a couple people each year who get lost or stuck in the snow and search an rescue are called out.

This list looks like the "departments" tab on the Walmart website. Lol. What is the difference between baby wipes and freshen up wipes? Just curious.

That's pretty badass. If I didn't have 2 carseats strapped in the back of mine I'd have to copy it. Can't have a toolbox in the bed of the truck and still fit 4 wheelers, lumber, steel, and what ever other redneckery I'm trying to haul around.

The freshen up wipes were a small pack for like 99 cents at Walmart. They seem to have a little stronger soap.

Baby wipes are a great invention. You can always take a "French shower" on the road if need be. I think this thread has gotten away from tool kits a bit but I am glad to see I am not the only one who tries to prepare for everything.

That is a nice box.
Thanks. It wasn't hard to build. After I had my truck repainted in 2013, I did not want to put That aluminum tool box back on the bed. I was still working offshore, and driving sometimes 4 hours (one way) to get a boat, to go offshore for 2 weeks. I needed a full tool box. This wooden box behind the back seat, has been grate. Its been 2 years sense I have been offshore, and I am working in town now. I still like having a good set of tools with me. As for copping it, hey feel free to. When the seat is folded up, you cant even tell the box is there. Only draw back is, that you cant lift the bottom of the seat without removing the wooden box. Here is what it looks like with the back of the seat up. Like I said, you can tell it even there.
