I spent little time at home. I had a lot of adventures doing many different things. New years day 2010 4 of us went 100 miles to get a full size backhoe. Not a lot of places open New Years day. The trailer light connector was bad and we had to change that out, I had a connector. We needed a clevis pin for one of the long chains, I had one. I had/have people in my life that don't react well to some OTC meds so I have a large variety. It wasn't uncommon for me to make a 250-400 mile run on a Saturday do go do something or help someone. Sometimes I rode with them in and it was as simple as grabbing my backpack and parts bag because they had tools. I would help strangers who had broke down. I have also made the mistake of traveling light. I took my family to Disney in 2016, in the middle of the night I see headlights in the ditch. I stop to check and there is a guy upright in a Camaro that had rolled at least once. He was alert enough to be on the phone with his girlfriend but what he was saying wasn't making sense. I called 911 and when I heard the ambulance siren I went back up on the road with a flashlight to signal the location. I didn't have my reflective vest and it would have been pretty handy that night.
I do know people who do nothing outside of going to work, going home watching TV, going to sporting events and maybe a vacation that involves flying and a rental car. AAA is for them for sure even if they had all this equipment they wouldn't know what to do with it.
