MANUAL OWNERS: Show me your less-than stock shifters

I'm mad at Hurst for discontinuing shifters for these trucks. I need one in mine.

Short throw shifter base. Maybe this is the part they were waiting for. Not a complete kit, though. The arm is +$70.00. Plus a ball. Plus a shifter boot.

I don't want to sound dumb but what is a shift throw reduction?

i took and welded a bolt to the top of my shifted and put a hurst pistol grip type shift on ill have to take a picture tomorrow but heres my buddys home made one

The length of the throw is shorter by 30%. The distance from 1st-2nd, 2nd-3rd. etc. Makes the shifts feel like you're not rowing a boat.

The shorter throw just means I'll destroy my synchros even quicker.

Yes. Think about the straight-line distance you move the shifter from the top of the pattern to the bottom, 1st to 2nd for example. Now, if you install this shifter, that straight-line distance will be reduced by 20%.
