Why cant you splice in a resistor or something like that so it dosent backfeed ?

That would be a diode. Diodes can't handle the current that these will draw.

It'll blow right through the doping and ruin it, essentially becoming a dead short.

Believe me; I've tried. Makes a nice puff of smog and then a snap noise as the circuit protection goes.

You'd need to design something like a zener diode circuit to handle the current but you're past my modest design abilities at that point...

And not to mention they aren't the only cars that have that. Audi started the trend, now Toyota, Lexus, Jeep, Dodge, Ford and even some Chevys have it. And also BMW has been using the halos for years. That cop was just BSing you, DRLs don't have to project, daytime running lamps mean lights for the DAYTIME...why would you need to project light in the day? :rofl:

reviving old thread here but has anyone tried this again using the switchback bulbs?
