????…because you can?

Yeah, "because you can" :waytogo:

It doesn't provide much belt wrap around the AC compressor, but maybe that's not a concern.

I wonder how long that OE alternator bracket will hold-up carrying around three, not one, alternators; bounce that ménage à trois across the cornfield or down the backroads for a few hundred hours and I wonder where the cracks will develop

I suppose if one needs three alternators ya gotta do what ya gotta do, but a 11kW Honda generator in the bed of the truck might make a fine alternative.

Since we're sharing options... There are still a few companies out there building high performance alternators that are capable of delivering 200A+ at idle. The DC Power XP series for example:

IMO this would be a simpler solution than running multiple alternators, although possibly more expensive.

DC Power also sells a dual alternator bracket kit for the '96+ Vortec 5.0/5.7s but it is not cheap.

…they’ll want 3 or 4 of those mounted on a bracket next!

I don't think that's the market. It's the big stereo guys that do this. Edit: I suppose there might be some people trying to generate power for additional lighting and/or inverters .

On the small block, with it's aluminum brackets, that would worry me a bit. The big block has iron brackets which can still crack, of course, but I think it would need an impact, not vibration.
