Better ground clearance comes in very handy, 4x4 or not. To say that a lift on a 2wd can only be for looks misses recognition of a lot of scenarios.

If i had choices i would have gone back and bought a 2wd. Honestly i rarely wheel enough for it to be worth it. Rough country makes a spindle lift kit. Super easy.

I'm a firm believer that it's better to have it and not need it than it it is to not have it that one time you need it. But then again I do use four wheel drive quite often and find myself in some odd situations way more than I should haha

This is also true an one of the reasons I talked myself into buying a 4x4. My lift an all sure would have been cheaper though on a 2x. I doubt it would have much effect on mpg though, maybe one mpg better...

I agree, i was talking to my buddy about his truck he got 04 or 06 dodge ram 2wd and i was joking around with him about it not being 4wd and i always think 4wd is like a condom its better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it. hahah

just out of curiosity, why do you say it defeats the prupose of the lift?

Because lifts are for ground clearance which is typically for off-roading.. if your purpose of lifting a 2WD truck is for looks or street ground clearance, then it doesn't defeat the purpose but I'm looking at it from an offroading perspective

I like mine lifted, was tired of it being lowered, and I don't think it's to much, or defeating the purpose of anything. Mine is just for looks because I have my 94 to go off-roading.

It looks good if you ask me. I guess I tend to view lifts.. especially anything over 2 inches.. for an offroading 4WD purpose
