Do if I get 4.10s - 4.56s I should be good? What brand? It's just to toe it where I'll live in it then sell it later
I wouldn't regear just for one trip tow it like it is and sell it. And alot of half tons got the 14bolt SF also.

Your truck will hate you, and hills will be a problem. A big problem.

My 98 has the Vortec 350, 3:73 gears, and 35" tires. My 2500 lb tent trailer turns my truck into a dog. I wouldnt even attempt 8k.

Ok so if I were to re hear it anyone know what brands to get? What brands to stay away from ? How hard is it to do the swap yourself? Tools needed? What size front and back to help tow with the 35s and still be a daily driver?

4.56 would be good for towing, wheeling, or driving around town. 4.10 would be better for empty highway driving.

As far as tools go, you're going to want a shop press, bearing separator, caliper, dial indicator, and torque wrench in addition to your basic tools. It adds up but from what I've seen you should still come out a bit ahead compared to paying a shop for a front and rear regear.

I just purchased a 29' bumper pull camper and it is dry weight at 7100 pounds and I think I'm going to fill it till about 8000 pounds tandem axle with 4 wheel electric brakes.

Everyone has touched on the truck plenty, the dry weight you listed what the camper says it weighs or actual? Many manufacturers list the weight without upgraded options, or liquids, not even counting the gear you put it. 900LBS adds up easily.

I'm looking at the same situation. My friend and I bought a 27' bumper pull (6100 lb dry weight) and I want to tow it with my HD K2500 running a 383 (285 hp/405 lb-ft), NV4500, and 3.42 gears. I have a parts truck with 4.10 gears ready to swap in but I have been on the fence about it. I think reading this discussion had made me decide to swap the 4.10's in for sure.
