man i just kept it cheap on my truck i bought a JVC cd player with the ipod hook ups from walmart for 65.00 and i bought pioneer door speakers for 45.00 and i have a single 10in sub and amp i bought off craigslist for 100.00 it sounds really good to me.. i just listen to rock and country so i didnt care about a ton of bass but with the set up i have now it sounds really crisp and clear with just the right amount of bass.. it hits hard and clean and it doesnt rattle everything to deal and sound trashy like the goofy ass donks you see driving all over town.

I would go with the kenwood 345 i sale and install them all the time, its a great all around deck, 3 rca out high pass an low pass filters as well as the ipod connection...as for the doors i would go with the jl tr650 an do the jl tr400 w/ the 4x6 adaptor in the rear, run a jl jx250 on a single 10w1 an it will sound great....

^agreed, plate speakers are how I've always replaced my 4x6's, but I usually run the plates with a 3.5" and a dome tweeter or two with bass blockers added. That way I can use my speakers for mids and highs, and route all the bass thru my subs.

Alright, I am going to go ahead and begin piecing together a system.

I am a total noob at this stuff, so please correct me if you see something I am doing wrong.

Here is what I have so far.

Headunit: Pioneer DEH-4300ub

Subbox: http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/2395093/vpcsid/0/SFV/30046

Sub: Kicker CVR 10 2ohm: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_2061CVR102/Kicker-10CVR102.html?search=cvr+10

Front speakers: Kicker DS60 6.5": http://www.crutchfield.com/p_206DS60/Kicker-DS60.html?search=kicker+ds+6.5

OR for the front: Kicker DS62: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_206DS62/Kicker-DS6-2.html?search=kicker+ds+6.5

Out of those 2, which would be better?

Rear speakers: 4x6 Kicker DS46: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_206DS46/Kicker-DS46.html?search=4x6+ds

Amp: Alpine MRP-M500: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500MRP...&nvpair=FFBrand|Kenwood&nvpair=FFBrand|Alpine

Does this seem decent?
