Figured I better start a thread to document my truck.
It's a 1996 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado 2wd with 3.42s, a 5.7 Vortec, and a 4L65e transmission.
Things done at this point:
-Fixed rust
-Pinstriping
-Oiled up tailgate latches and freed them up (works like new now!)
-CB and antennas.
-Painted bottom black with bedliner
-Fake train horn air horn
Things to do:
-88-89 Quad sealed beam headlights
-Aftermarket LED tail lights
-Remove clear on wheels and polish (hopefully, they're pretty rough)
-Try and restore the tailgate banner
-Polish up the toolbox
-Exhaust
-Air compressor
-Hood

Right before said fresh wash

Those are all the pictures I've got for now, hopefully much more to come.
As you might be able to see, the wheels are pretty rough.

Thanks, got it from my uncle who bought it in 2005ish from a dealer. It had some rust on the doors and cab corners, but I took it down to bare metal then did the bedliner over it. It's rusting again so I'm going to knock it back down, prime it, then paint it all proper like. The intake gasket's been done and I did the water pump and switched it over to regular green from dex-cool, too.
I forgot to add fix rust again and 1 inch coil spacers in the front until i get real lift coils to the list.

Nice truck. Lots of potential.

I did the bed liner bottoms as well, lasted 2 years at best. I even created cab corners with Great Stuff expanding foam. looked good for a winter then fell off. Finally got to the point I needed to do the repair the right way. So doing it right the first time is the best way.

My metal wasn't gone, it was just surface rust, still is now. I should be able to just prime and paint it, provided i bring it to bare metal and paint it correctly, right?

I've been thinking. about doing the bottom half on mine but I'm not sure yet. I mean I don't have any rust or anything.

I think I'm going to do the 4 corner mod too. Can I use the lighted corners from any year to get the hole for the light to go through?

I'm going to make an HD /4 hi harness, figured this as good of a place to ask if any. Would anyone be interested in one? Numbers will be very limited if I make more, though.
I also am not sure where to get the connectors from. I need the 9005 and 9006,of course.

Got one wheel stripped and mostly polished, it's gonna take some sandpaper to get it perfect but whatever.

The other 3 wheels come... soon.
Then HD harness, 4 hi, and whatever else I feel like.
