Also scored a set of decent valve covers from the junk yard this morning. Got to clean them up of course but they are in pretty good shape for a junk yard part.

Getting some quick touch up work done. Lots of glass on the pass side. Working one section at a time. Will be a 30 footer at best but that doesn't bother me, it will look cooler in the end.

The passenger side is all glass. I sanded through a small section, will have to build it back up.

Passenger side painted. Tailgate painted. Not even close to good but at least it's almost all one color. Ran out of paint and ran out of time.

So I recently noticed the engine would crank really slow after a day or two of sitting. It got to the point where I was putting the jump pack on it the last two times I took it out. Thought maybe it was a failing battery but it turned out to be much worse.

How this didn't start a fire is beyond me.

This is a pic of the positive battery cable which had grounded itself to the frame once it had rubbed through. This also happened to the main power wire that goes to the distribution block on the firewall, that one was almost snapped into two pieces.

Lucky for me Advance Auto had what I needed for $10.
