    3.73 is a good gear for a bit larger tires. I think around 33" you want to start looking for 4.11 or 4.10, whatever comes in these. And if you just want to smoke tires and be quicker to the next light both of those ratios work, also

    i guess he is going to try and do this as cheaply as possible. i told him just pull the head on the passenger side of hte 4.3 and get it checked and redo the head gasket and his truck will be back to fine but he wants to do a v8 since he already has to put the truck down to get it running properly

He is not interested in tons of wiring mods to get the engine to run so he wants to try to find a regular tbi engine since his is a tbi truck.     Drain the tank and throw a pack of marbles in and shake it around. That will break any junk free inside the tank. Then just clean the stuff out and you are ready to reinstall everything

    Killeen is a military town so it's just bars and car lots. My brother was there for 4 years so we visited from Corpus a lot. It was just like Fort Benning and Fort Jackson and every large army town.

    Howdy from South Texas!

    She has been a good truck thus far. Wish she got a little better gas mileage but for the small section of town I live and work in, 12mpg lasts two weeks at a full tank. If I can figure a way to get the gas mileage up to at least 15, I will be over joyed.
