I have a low mileage front diff that is supposedly its from a 99 Yukon with 3.73. Is there a way to tell what gearing it is without tearing it apart? There are no clear markings that I can find.
I don't run my A/C much but when I do I don't notice any difference.
I have a tonneau cover and I can't tell a difference in MPG when its opened or closed.
Rear end in my 98 Z71 GU6 G80 has been going bad for the last year slowly. Didn't have the time, money or knowledge for a rebuild so I found a bargain GU6 G80 out of a 99 tahoe with 60,000 miles and did a pretty straight forward swap. Brakes on the 99 axle are larger than what was on my 98...
My 98 does the same thing, I just let her warm up before pulling out. Normally ticking goes away at idle after 15-20 seconds and goes away for acceleration at 1-2 minutes. Only happens when it hasn't been ran for 8 hours and is a bit worse when its cold. Winter weather usually she gets 10-15...

I've seen this thread along with a few others. It just seems to me that there has to be a way to repair that blend door without ripping the entire dash out.
To the right of the gas pedal, the actuator is hooked up to 2 doors. The door closer towards the top is not working. Looked under and found that is was connected to the actuator but it looked as if the door was off. I fiddled with it and it came disconnected. For the life of me I cannot get the...
Mine hasn't fallen out yet but its not working.
Looks like you have to remove the dash to get to that door.
You should have 2 of those, one for each door. The actuator hooks up to those.
Anyone have experience on a repair that doesn't require pulling the dash?
My grommets are loose as hell on a new rebuilt master cylinder. Luckily to don't leak unless you move the reservoir with your hand. Never did look into buying new ones.
I don't run the dex cool either, although I have heard that after a class action lawsuit the formula was changed so it no longer did damage. It was used in my wife's Malibu and its junk, pure junk. I haven't flushed in a while and I don't remember how much. I might take that task on next weekend.
A little bit.
I'm thinking its the U-Joints also. Think I'll throw some on before the month is over. I can't think of anything else and the U-Joints are about the only thing that haven't been replaced in the past year.
98 K1500 z71 auto, suspension & drive train stock
Very light vibration from driver's side front. Feels like its right under my feet. More noticeable during acceleration. Vibration comes and goes with no rhyme or reason, lasts a day or two then is gone for a week. No noticeable difference...
Not to far away from me. Might consider making a trip next summer.
I stopped at a local body shop and they told me to buy new doors. She is really getting cancer bad, this last winter really hit hard. Looking at next summer to work on the rust & paint.
