Weird A/C problem

With my 1998 1500 4x4 my A/C works great when i first run it, but on a long road trip after a couple hours, it stops working, the fans are running at full power and they sound like they are but no cold air is coming into the cab, what i'm wanting to know is, is this how the a/c works? or is then another problem with my a/c system?

Sounds like u need to recharge ur a/c system... A can of 34R at AutoZone or a local a/c shop will take care of u...

Yup, you need a recharge, do that and then get back to us if it works or not, you may have to end up replacing the system like I had to do if that doesn't work.

Evaporator core freezing up, too much refrigerant.

Edit: I am seeing a lot of people saying that the core is freezing from too little refrigerant as well... ?
