99 Tahoe GU6 G80 into 98 Z71

Rear end in my 98 Z71 GU6 G80 has been going bad for the last year slowly. Didn't have the time, money or knowledge for a rebuild so I found a bargain GU6 G80 out of a 99 tahoe with 60,000 miles and did a pretty straight forward swap. Brakes on the 99 axle are larger than what was on my 98 though, not sure if it was stock or not. Buddy threw in the front diff so I have a backup.


The first drive was such a relief to get away from that gnarly grinding noise. I get into a mood every time I drive my truck when I know something is wrong with it. Looking forward to some stress free driving, almost like driving a new truck.
