Defrost Blend Door

To the right of the gas pedal, the actuator is hooked up to 2 doors. The door closer towards the top is not working. Looked under and found that is was connected to the actuator but it looked as if the door was off. I fiddled with it and it came disconnected. For the life of me I cannot get the door to go back into its track or get the door lever connected to the actuator.




Can this repair be done without removing the dash?

Is removing the dash really that difficult?



The first picture shows the lower door

The second picture shows the upper door's lever and actuator arm that disconnected

The third shows how bent the upper door's lever looks

I've seen this thread along with a few others. It just seems to me that there has to be a way to repair that blend door without ripping the entire dash out.
