I still haven't wired mine up. Tried messing with it yesterday, but the weather has been ****. Lol. When I was playing with it I noticed that the glass signal light is not desperate from the clearance light..what's a fix for that?

no, i got the cheapest old style mirrors i could find with the right bases and the new style and swapped those bases....i figured thats the same you did when you said you had old style and used the bases?
i was not talking about swapping motors, i was saying i would take moror apart and find a way to wire. i did that and got it to work...its the 4 wire vs 3 wire post on my page....think you commented on it.
I did see that Yeah. I think anyone who does the base swap in the future would have an easier time getting two sets of k2xx mirrors, gmt400 base and 99-02 gmt800 base. That way you have the right motors and could just swap them as well without modifying.

Have to pull them apart and separate the wiring for them.

Got my K2XX mirrors installed today. Love the way they turned out and so far just driving at night, I can see a lot more that the GMT800 style mirrors, especially in the convex mirror. The GMT800 style convex mirrors have a big blind spot that these don't have.

I'll try to get a video tomorrow on how the turn signals work with and without the running lights on, I like how it turned out.

Not to be a Debbie downer, but depending on your local laws all that green looks like a great way to get pulled over real quick. That wouldn't fly for 5min around here.

That may be true, but I've had both my Jeep and my Yukon like this for over 4 years and never had a problem. I know both city and county cops and they both told me the books say nothing about what color the marker/turn signals need to be as long as they are not blue or red.

I don't care what color lights you have honestly but the federal regs state forward facing and side marker lights are supposed to be amber and rear facing ones red. It might not be in a local/County ordnance but it's definately covered in federal dot regs.

I say that not to bash you or anything just so you know. Like you said most cops don't care as long as they aren't blue or red. But if one wanted to be a jerk about it you could get tickets for it.

I know that and I also know what the federal DOT says (I checked that even before I checked with my local law, just to see if it was something they looked for) and I also thank y'all for pointing it out since some people don't know.

But until I start getting pulled over for it I'm not going to be changing it, put too much money into doing it.

I also thank y'all for being nice about it, I know of plenty of other places that would be a##holes about it.
