Pff, that's all part of the game. I had the grinder get away from me with a knotted cup brush, wasn't very pleasant. But if you want to get after some rust with hatred and prejudice there is no better way that I've found.
Luckily the frames on my trucks aren't scaled up too bad, it wouldn't take too much to get them down to bare metal.
The hardest part about doing this frame is going to be cutting off that damn plate and grinding the rails back smooth where they welded plates on the side

Yeah that'll be fun. Don't underestimate what it'll take to make that frame silver again though. My dually frame out back was brown with zero scale but took a ton of elbow grease to turn it all silver again.

I was looking at those cup wheels the other day, I had an incident at work using a wire cup wheel that resulted in me pulling a few needles out of my arms, so I was trying to find a better way to get this frame cleaned.
Flap wheels and knotted wire cups for the win! Don't forget the eye protection and leather gloves at a minimum.

If we’re talking hatred and prejudice may as well drag out the sandblaster….

Alternator died the other night, had time today to pull the old one off. Gonna run sometime this week to get a new one. Might grab a new tensioner too, this one is a little wobbly.

Had the alternator tested in September of 22 and it tested good, so I guess I exceeded the window of it being functional. Can't complain, I bought it out of a junkyard.

Picked up a new hitch, need to swap the side brackets for it to fit. Dude bought it for his truck, used it once or twice and then put a flatbed on his truck. Super jazzed, these hitches are close to $400 now off E-Trailer, I paid like $320 for the one on the red truck back in 2020, so I was over the moon when I found this on Marketplace

I love those receivers that tuck up like that! Great find!

Gonna need new (bigger) chain ends now.
Truth be told I never liked hooking the chain loops up, I always managed to get them jammed or something, d-rings all the way.

I never really paid attention until I saw another member on here who installed a B&W on his truck, I love how clean it looks and it let me mount my 7/4 pole connector and my LED pods exactly where I wanted them! Only downside was due to the way the hitch is tucked up under, and the routing of my tail pipes, I can't fit my spare tire under the red truck. The crewcab is a different story though.
