I have a 1991 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 305 v8 and want to remove the the valve covers to install billet ones. I'm use to removing the four bolts and removing them on older SBC engines. but appears to be much more involved in this 305 engine.

Please provide a list of what engine components have to be removed on each side of engine in order to remove the factory valve covers. Thanks in advance for your responses to my question!!!

Still simple. You have PCV one side, breather tube on the other. They pop out then center bolts. That is it.

Well you may have trouble with the stuff on the pass side of the throttle body, EGR solenoid. MAP sensor and whatever. and depending if the covers are taller than stock the plug wire holders and heater hose bracket. Both bolt on the back of the heads.
