Decided to take another look at swapping the O2 sensor out for the heated one this morning. Current state appears to be a 1994 vintage.

Going to have to break out the wallet wrench and just get the local napa shop to deal with it. Nothing left of the existing to grab except with a pipe wrench/channel locks/etc.

Also realized I'm missing a bolt from the transmission pan....

O2 sensors can be a PITA for sure.I know when I installed a new one years ago I cross threaded it so it's gonna be fun when it comes time to change it.I know,I know....dumb ass me LOL.
Thats a problem for future you, maybe even someone else.
Ugh. That might be easier to just weld a new bung next to that one and cut the pigtail off. :superhack:
Yeah, I dropped by napa today and talked to them about welding in a new bung. Not really something I want to deal with. It'll be getting a heated sensor wired in when it happens. Already have the stuff to do it, just not the motivation with household projects occurring.

Looks like I'll be opening the cooling system back up again soon. Let it warm up this evening to move it out if the middle of the driveway and saw a water trail up the hill after I shut it down. Hopped out and checked, definitely antifreeze. Pop the hood and it's coming from the thermostat neck and upper radiator hose.

Will be getting a new neck for it and ideally constant tension clamps if I can find the part numbers and source some.

No real progress or work on the suburban lately. Over the past week, I've laid some cheap butyl sound deadener on the tailgate where the foam insulation mess disintegrated and put the plastic/carpet back on. Much more comfortable to sit or crawl over now.

Wife and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary today after taking the kids to the national aquarium in baltimore yesterday. I took two days off work to drive them into the city yestersay and be home all day today. She wanted a pedicure so I took the three monsters with me and drove the suburban to town for a few errands before picking up the roses I ordered last week from the florist on the way home. We then spent most of the day following orders except when she took the kids to her folks place for a while and I got to tinker about.

My free time was spent cleaning up a jack given to me by a previous neighbor and filling with hydraulic fluid (snowbplow fluid actually) and picking up the yard to mow tomorrow. Jack works, tested under the suburban control arm successfully. Tomorrow's activities include cooking breakfast, assembly of my MIL's 4runner rear axle and bleeding brakes, mowing our weed patch, and then cooking dinner. Maybe watch a movie with the kids depending on how exhausted we are.

Things added to my running list of projects today, pulling cargo area carpet to clean in the suburban and installing a brake controller in our sequioa. Will be acquiring a 6-ton deckover equipment trailer before long and not willing to drive the suburban with a drinking problem the approximately 5 hours each way to pick it up.
