I'm thinking about $500 or $600. I've got a 350 that I could rebuild and put in it vs. putting in another 305, I'd just need to find a different computer, which should be no problem. Or would it just be easier to leave it a 305? There's a salvage yard near me that's got a 305 at 186k miles for $500, or there's another one for $500 that has 157k miles on it but is about 10 miles away more.

Much better than the $700 one that you were looking at. I'd drop in a salvage yard 350 just send the pcm to be tuned. Either way I'd pull a valve cover prior to forking out any cash. Well, truthfully, I have an endoscope so I'd look through the oil fill and oil drain plug.

Supposedly rust-free (a bit leery of what's hiding behind those flares, but the rockers look solid so that's a good sign), problem is it's a 95 an it's 2.5 hours away. Will any 350 TBI work in a 95? I know the 95 transmissions are one-year only, but I'm not sure on the engine.
