I'm installing a 4l60e in my '89 (used to have a th700) and was wondering if someone else did this too and how you controlled the transmissions. Which stand alone controller did you use and do you like it or would you go for another solution if you would to do it again.

I used the TCU from TCIAuto.com it wired in perfectly and worked flawlessly after the tune was complete. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was limited on what you could do with the handheld module. It's costly though, I think I paid $600+ for mine.

Easiest one to use IMO. Have had nothing but great experience with the unit and the customer service. It's hard to find a good product that is supported by a good company now a days
