American Nightmare
Got the beast running. Swapped out the dash harness, that fixed the no-start problem. Here's a couple bugs that I'm looking for some advice on.
Won't start unless I hold the throttle halfway open, then acts like a flooded carbed car until it gets going, after that it runs like it should, but at 1000 RPM, won't go lower. Injectors aren't leaking down, fuel pressure does not drop
Here's what I tried-
Unplugged IAC, did what it should, idled up a little and turned the MIL on
Plugged IAC back in.
Unplugged TPS. Nothing. No change, no MIL, revs fine.
Plugged TPS back in. Dies. Did this a few times to be sure, does it every time.
Replaced TPS and repeated, same result.
Any ideas?
Here's the other thing, when I put it in gear cold, it's ok, but when it's warm it dies unless I powerbrake it. I was told my the local performance shop when I explained it to him that I need a stall converter, probably 2000-2200. I'm not one to go to places like that for advice, but it's been hard to find any info whatsoever on this swap. Thoughts?
