Running rich

I have a 1994 chevy 350 it's running realy rich I thing I can smell gas out the tailpipe and there is black smoke and black dust over my exhaust tips so why would it be running rich ?

Probably your CTS (coolant temp sensor) has gone out. Usually when these tbi trucks start running rich is because the CTS goes outta wack. Also have you given the engine a tune up possibly? Maybe check timing?

I have changed the temp sensor a about a year ago along with tune up but latly I have Ben having overheating problems and oak how to cheak timing

Coolant temp sensor or oxygen sensor might be worth a look. Do you have a misfire?

Mabye cus it idles a little rough and 1 side of my exhaust sounds diffrent than the other

Rough idle, one exhaust sonds different, overheating........
Sounds like headgasket. Water in oil or oil in water? How do plugs look?
