Would it matter that my truck came with a v6 from the factory? Softer bars maybe? It has a 383 in it now so maybe the extra weight made it ride better?

It appeared to raise my front almost 2.5" but the ride was really good.

Mine is mostly the shocks I think. My brother had a 99 new body style that had a 2" suspension and a 3" body lift running 35s and it rode really smooth even with the bars up all the way

Shocks would probably help, like the 2-3" lift shocks. Stocks can attribute the the horrible ride. I need new shocks for mine. There is also the "ball joint flip" that can soften up the ride. I'm gonna check that out when I replace my ball joints.

I wasn't aware of the ball joint flip. It lifts the truck?

No, it lifts the Uca further away from the drop stop, but no actual gain in height is made. Gives you a bit more suspension travel and a better ride. Some have good luck with it, some complain of too much camber to align. Depends on how much you are cranked I reckon. I'm gonna do mine and see how it works.

Have you guys ever thought of cutting the droop stop out?
