one question is, do you really need a 496, or would a rebuilt 350 be fine, Im assuming that would cost less, and get slightly better gas milage

haha gas mileage isnt really a concern now im getting 9 with the lift and 35s. how much more are we talking to swap in the 496 rebuilt versus a upgraded 350?

imo, with a 9" lift and 35" tires you probably need a gear swap more than an engine swap. A fresh 350 with the right gear set will do all you could need unless you are towing. If you are towing enough to "need" a 496 BB you need to buy a 3/4 ton truck to do it with.
