P0716 help

Threw a P0716 in my 99 K3500 7.4, 4L80 the other day. Can anyone tell me where the sensor is? Is it internal or external?

P0716 is a Turbine input speed sensor

That's a code for input speed sensor? It's on the driver's side above the neutral safety switch. It's held by a single 7 mm bolt.

Yea. Transmission is acting like it wants to lock up at idle every once in a while. That’s the only code it threw

Here's where the sensor is located. They sometimes get metal particles in it because when energized it acts like a magnet (electromagnetic field.) Remove it and inspect it. IIRC, they are around $60-ish.

Ended up replacing the sensor. Wasn’t hard. Trans shifts fine now. Thank you for the help
