a weak valve spring could start to do that, or collapsed lifter perhaps. it sounds like somethings not in time right, seems like all the inspections you can do visually are done, not running to rich or lean so itd seem to me something mechaincal.

In the past I had a shop set the cam retard and all was fine, I had a superchips programmer on it then (don't ask). I removed the superchips and had a custom tune done and is started to do the same thing but between 1,200-1,500 RPM. I took it into another shop and they reset the cam retard and said it was originally off. I think I am going to take it back to that shop and have him set it. I believe it is correct but the other shop will set it for about $10 so I'm gonna give it a try.
