Do you have a more straight on pic? That angle may make it look like it's reading lower than actual.

Years back they changed the engine design they went from pressure to oil volume.your oil sending unit could be bad..or it maybe just needing a oil and filter change.higher number when cold.

When warm 40 and up.zero red line you got a problem.if lifters are not making a noise.i would bet on a sending unit.

For what it's worth, that's pretty much the same reading I get for oil pressure and temp. I have a reman engine with 10k miles on it and it has a new thermostat. I don't have a lot of faith in the accuracy of the factory gauges. I think you're fine.

My 1998 c1500 4.3L does the same thing.

Changed thermostat today , temp gets to operating temp but then drops down to about 160. Is that normal ?
