OK, Finally after identifying the rear end metal clanging sound... It looks to be the shackle just in front of the rear driver side tire thats holds the springs straight/together... is there a way to fix these? does this mean I have bad leaf springs? the rear end doesnt sag or bounce...

I had the same problem on both my trucks. Couple minutes and a welder problem solved

Thats what I was thinking of doing... but is that a sign of a failing leaf spring? or just the actual bracket itself?

No not a failing spring. All these years of these trucks being bounced around on the roads will make things vibrate and loosen up
