Diagnosing surging idle and very poor spray patter.

have my factory manual and am following the troubleshooting guide.
My injectors are only getting 5-7 volts

It basically said that my ICM or connections is the problem.

OK, so the ICM is new and came with a new dizzy I put in. I had the ICM tested at AZ and it passed many times.

But i trust the factory manual over AZ, so I bought a new one.

the old one came apart when I lifted it out (the metal plate separated)

how likely is it that it could have been the problem all along? Do ICM tests have false negatives in your experience?

dont know how mine is... I dropped the dizzy cap screws and cant find them so I havent fired it up yet.

Well I got it all back together and NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So done with this thing, the thrill is gone. turning the key feels like buying a lottery ticket.

Still looking for any info on the polarity of the wires coming from the pickup coil to the ICM... which is which? It doesnt start either way. NOWHERE can I fend something that says what polarity is or which wire goes where, even in the factory manuals in every diagram it shows which wire is which but from the pickup coil it just has two unmarked lines and thats it.

thoughts?
