how to stop flow on ground wire

I need help on how to wire up, I have electric fan and I have one wire coming from a negative temperature switch and one wire coming from a negative on the a/c compresor. What I need is I'm burning up switchs when i run the a/c, so i need to stop the ground going to the switch when the a/c is on. Do I need to put a diode in the line? If so what size and what diode?

Thanks I will try tapping the ac ground after the relay.
