That's a good thought, about keep gas in the tank to keep it cool; never thought of it that way. Mine had over 200k on it but I always kept the tank as full as I could. Maybe it really did make a difference...

Ya I didn't find out until afterwards that the in-tank pumps use the gas in the tank to keep cool. Also once it gets below 1/4 full the pump has to work harder. So that's 2 things going against it.

I had the exact same problem with my truck. I thought my pump went out (wouldn't be surprising seeing what it went through) but it turned out it was a ground wire making the truck stall.

My stock pump wouldn't do more than 15psi or so, and I needed 20psi for the stock 350 injectors to put out enough lb/hr for the engine build. The TPI pump is rock solid at 20psi all the time with no issues.
