Does anyone have any experience with the factory radios pre-95? My tape player died, so I can't use the tape deck for my iPhone hookup, AND the unit stays in tape mode so I can't listen to the radio. I don't want to get rid of the stock unit because I like the look, but I'd like to be able to listen to the radio and figure out a way to splice in an aux input for the iPhone/mp3 player. Anyone out there with experience/suggestions?

I was planning on replacing my headunit with an aftermarket, but in the meantime I tried this exact same FM modulator so I could plug my phone in. As much as I hate these things, I really didn't expect much. I used one a long time ago and it was horrible. But to honest, this one sounds perfect. I've been using it for over a year. I've never gotten any distortion or whining. I hid it in my dash and wired it to come on with the ignition.

I bought this and extended it into my center console. Looks factory.
