Replacing the evaporator core in my 98 and have a couple questions...

1. Any suggestions for a new seal on the blower side of the core? The original is tearing as I remove it. Maybe just some hardware store weatherstripping? I guess it is just to keep air from flowing around the sides of the core.

2. What is this metal screen on the outlet for?

I would agree with the hardware store weather striping. I would just make sure that you can get it roughly the same thickness. If it to thick you might not be able to get it sucked up right. I have no idea why there is a screen on the outlet side. To me it would make more sense to have it on the inlet side.
