What all is involved in converting to a floor shifter on the 96+ 60E's? Also what would be a good shifter to get? Not looking for any kind of fancy slap shifting manual wanna be shifter, just a simple shifter I can put in a console and look clean.

What would be some stock options to choose from? I found this 57 with a 4l60e with a shifter from a Cadillac dts. This is pretty much what I'm trying to accomplish.

Guess I'll have to hit up the junk yard when I get home from work.

Well, I got the shifter pictured above. Apparently they're standard issue on the 5th gen Seville. Got one shipped for $40 off ebay. I'll see how well I can get it to work when it gets in.

I will be watching this one. I would love to put that kind of shifter in my truck. That in a custom built console would look pretty good. I like whats in the pics as well.

Hey guys, finally got a chance to mess around with the shifter today. Measured the spacing between each gear shift on each shifter. Turns out they're identicle, so installing the Seville unit is as simple as un-hooking the cable from the columb and connecting it to the Seville unit.

I also recovered the knob last night.

A little bracket will have to be made to hold the cable.

Here's the old leather I pulled off this thing.

Nice, now just get that console built and you'll be good to go.
