Center armrest release

Have a 96 c1500 with the 60/40 split bench with fold down armrest which refuses to fold down. Think the button that opens the armrest also releases it to fold down, but it won't. Think it will have to be folded down to take it apart to find problem. Anyone dealt with this?

Once in while my 95 folding it down it acts like its Locked, but it's just the compound hinge is getting wear and tear showing it's age.

No, gotta jiggle it around and hold your mouth just right. Can also try lifting it up while wiggling it to get it to go.
