i have a 3 inch. and i dont believe i have the extension. could that be the cause of my loss of power steering?

Perhaps the shaft is pulled out enough from the steering box that you lost all your fluid? Notice any leaks?

truck came with the body lift on it. ive come to realize the guy did everything the cheapest way and a** backwards

A quick way to diagnose your power steering is..

With truck running in park, turn steering wheel, if it doesn't want to turn the wheels, try giving it some more rpms and then steer, if it does, your pump is bad. I just put a power steering pump in my truck today.

doubtful, power steering lose would be from a hose, pump or gear box itself.

complete lose of steering WOULD be from the extension.

what can or woul dhappen without it? the shaft come out and you loose all steering control from the wheel.

Do you need it? some say yes, some say it'll adjust down enough to work without it.
