Take the top off the throttle body, open up the throttle blades and spray some starter fluid in. Put the top back on the throttle body and crank it. If it is not getting fuel, it will fire or try to fire up with the starter fluid and then die. That will be a good indicator of the fuel pump
My '88.... The fuel pump is in the gas tank... I never hear it run....
Are later years located somewhere else?
( Twice in 6 years, my truck suddenly wouldn't start... It was the coil in the distributor.)
As far as I could tell, there is power, the relay works, and I couldn't get the pump to kick on whatsoever. I think it's new pump time. You could locate the fuel pump relay and pop off the plastic cover of relay and manually operate to see if the pump kicks on. Also use a volt ohm meter and ensure power is at the relay and traveling through the relay when manually engaged.
