I recently bought a 97 sierra with high miles for cheap. The previous owner stated that if the truck sits a couple days, it's hard to start. I believe that when the truck is turned off, fuel continues to be pumped into the intake and floods the engine for the next startup. At this moment the truck will not start.

We have taken off the intake manifold and replaced the fuel spider. In the process the old fuel had a chance to evaporate so the truck started. The next week it flooded again after the truck was turned off. This time, I let the fuel evaporate by opening the throttle body. I replaced the fuel pump relay. The truck started again and flooded again after begin turned off.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on starting a flooded truck and stopping the leak?
