take your alternator to a local rebuilder and have them upgrade it, usualy cheaper and if you have a good local it will be a better unit than a store bought unit wich they usualy just fix what was wrond and don;t do a total rebuild

This is what I did and had it changed to a one wire alt.

Original poster, check out the "BIG 3" mods....this helps tremendously with that dimming issue. If you can't find any info on it here, then you definitely will over at www.gmfullsize.com
