89 gmc grill has broken (missing) blinker housing tabs. the square plastic tabs where the screws mount the blinker housings onto the grill.
Has anyone developed a good way to complete this repair? I know there are kits like "plastex" but wondering if anyone has a known good method.

You can find or order replacement nuts for the plastic tabs that are much thinner in profile than factory that will still bite a broke tab if there is enough of a stub remaining. I know this because I swapped my aftermarket grille with an OEM one tonight and broke two stubs and the flatter, thinner nuts still bit when I swapped them with the factory ones.

Having a tough time seeing in my mind's eye what's broken - can you post pics?

It must be something like this, but this is a 96+ grille.
