I'm working on my uncle's 88 305 TBI and one of the things he asked me to figure is why it takes over ten cranks to start it when it's cold and over three when it's warm. Any ideas on what direction I should look in?

mine does pretty much the same... when it's cold it turns over several times before it fires... but when it's warm I fires right up. mines a 350 tbi and I'm gonna pay close attention to this so maybe I can figure mine out too.

i would test the fuel pressure cold if its bleeding down as it sits the extra cranks could be what it takes to get the pressure back up to the tbi, also test the spark could be weak wires, coil ect...
